Will Norway and Co-chairs back the EPDP Council in LTTE-cont

Will Norway and Co-chairs back the EPDP Council in LTTE-controlled area?

Colombo, 30 March, (Asiantribune.com): The Co-chairs and Norway, the official facilitator in the peace process in Sri Lanka, are faced with a knotty problem: will they back the legally elected representatives of the Eelam Peoples' Democratic Party (EPDP) to run the Puthukudiyiruppu Pradeshiya Sabha or will they back the LTTE who lost control of it to the EPDP, their arch rivals.

"Norway is pressuring the government to disarm the Tamil parties opposed to the LTTE without exerting pressure on the LTTE to let the legally elected council to function in the LTTE-controlled areas. this double-standard is not acceptable," said Ranjith Soysa, spokesperson for the Melbourne-based Society for Peace, Unity and Human Rights.

EPDP is run by Douglas Devananda who had survived several attempts by the LTTE to assassinate him. Despite gaining control of it political observers believe that the LTTE will either obstruct or liquidate the nine member nominated by Devananda.

We don't have to ask everything from Co-chairs. EPDP did not come illegally.

Will Norway and Co-chairs back the EPDP Council in LTTE-cont

other than being a peace broker....what other right the norway or..have to do with SL politics?

Why we should worry about them......if EPDP legally selected, then let them do their job.../ if LTTE do not like it, then let them contest in future elections and win there...

It’s a “Silly question” if the EPDP legally elected or what how can the Norwegians will back the EPDP to run the Puthukudiyiruppu Pradeshiya Sabha. And why should they have to back the EPDP???

What do you mean EPDP and LTTE are same? Not in All

If both are same also only they’ll back the LTTE who lost control of it to the EPDP.

From Uncle Sam to Japan there is so many reasons to back the LTTE.

And when Norwegian masters directly pressuring the GOSL to disarm the Tamil parties opposed to the LTTE without exerting pressure on the LTTE how come they’ll let allow the legally elected council to function in the LTTE-controlled areas???

Guys wake up!!!!!

Are you people dreaming???

What do you think about LTTE’s Masters?????

Mr. Ranjith Soysa can say this double-standard is not acceptable. But who is going to listen?

Fate of Sri Lankans!!!
