Tiger eastern commander, Bhanu, under serious threat from Karuna Group

Colombo, 30 April, (Asiantribune.com): Colonel Bahnu, LTTE’s Special Commander of the Batticalao-Amparai districts, has quietly slipped out of 'Thenagam' which is considered to be the eastern headquarters of the Tigers.

Sources based in the east said that concerns about the personal security of Colonel Bahnu was the chief reason for him to vacate the stronghold of the Tamil rebels’ main base located at Karadiyanaru.

The official reason given by the Tigers to bring back Colonel Bahnu to Vanni, with the assistance of the Sri Lankan Monitoring Mission, is to attend the so-called central committee meeting of the LTTE.

Informed sources dismissed this claim saying that normally central committee meetings are held in democratic political organisations and not in a military organization like the LTTE. A meeting of such nature was never heard of in the LTTE during the 25-odd years of its existence. The LTTE has been operating basically on feedbacks provided by the intelligence agents and the normal practice is for the leadership to pass down the orders.
Tamilnet says, their boats tranaported LTTV caders to east, probably reinforcing their's against KAruna.
Why are every one fixated with Tamilnet ?
Don't you believe AsianTribune stories?

For your info. tamilnet says LTTE was confronted by Sri Lanka Navy (SLN) boats while they were transporting cadres from Mullaithivu Sea-Tiger base to Trincomalee in the East. The Sea Tigers counter-attacked and completed their sea passage successfully. On the return journey, SLN vessels followed Sea-Tigers at a distance and the Sea Tigers completed the journey without any interference.
But the attack on Karuna camp happened close to Thibulana, located 7 km east of Welikande in Batticaloa - Polannaruwa border.
So where is this 'probably reinforcing \' comes to play?
Take a look at the map of SL to see the physical location of Trinco and Batticoloa/pollanarua border!
I think Tamilnet has a searchable map of SL.

Yes, 5 got captured by LTTE and the rest 8 are being evacuated to Colombo after initial treatment.
Is the story 'fit' now?

Come on 1/LTTE,

the fight lasted not so long and Tigers began to flee as they were unable
to withstand the ferocity ot the Karuna Group attack

How could SLA know where Ltte camps are?
Even in GOSL controlled areas, SLA doesn't know where karuna's camps are? You expect them to know where Ltte camps in Ltte area?

Looks like, GOSL was eyeing for Banu through their para-military, LTTE was eyeing Sarath through their para-military, for some time.

Re: Tiger eastern commander, Bhanu, under serious threat fro

VP has a great concern about the personal security of his eastern commander Col.Bhanu,
who was forced to vacate the main base of Vanni Tigers
located at Karadinayaru.
Tigers tried by all means to bring back Bahnu to Vanni,
because of serious threat from Karuna Group.
Col. Bhanu full of panic launched last night
with about 200 hundrets his warriors the desperate onslaught
on three camps belonging to the Karuna paramilitary group
with about 800 fighters.
As sources said all three of the camps were burnt to the ground
and 2 Key Karuna Group operatives: Sinathamby and Markan
were amongst the dead.
It seems Bahnu is now on his way to Vanni.

It is wheather Bhanu or Pirapakaran or any member of the terrorist organisation, they would have to die a violent death because they have killed so many innocent lives. One should not show mercy to these devils. What happened to JVP members during the early years, would have to happen to LTTE members one day or other.
