Karuna's group) declared that the LTTE leader should be tried before an International Criminal Court like Slobodan Milosevic or Charles Taylor.
"The redemption and the liberation of the Tamils will begin only on that day," he told the Asian Tribune.
He said: "We took up arms to fight, believing with confidence that the answer to our struggle is Tamil Eelam. But our objective has changed and turned into brutal terrorism. It was Prabakaran who converted the reasonable struggle of the Tamils into a mindless campaign of terrorism ," said Thooyavan,
"What Prabakaran and his colleagues are involved today is not a struggle towards achieving Tamil Eelam. Not a struggle even for the people’s welfare. It is clear today that they have lost the original purpose of their struggle.

As I talked to them they are still sceptical about the Canadian authorities enforcing this ban seriously. But now atleast they have the support since it is no longer ambiguous.
As for the property ownership, that may not be their choice but another way to keep both feet in Canada.(most immigrants still keep their ties with their land of origin).

Mentally retardeds never become criminals. Criminals are intelligent people.
In case of VP, when he was young he stole bicycles from poor tamils (rich will not use bikes, they go for cars). So the same way, he uses poor for his protection.
He also extorted money from businesses and terrorised them. He still terrorise his opponents and still extort money from diaspora and the businesses, some times those reasons seem to be valid.
He has screwed up so much, it is not easy to change the direction. Besides, after everything basic human instincts - it's self survival.

What a turnaround within two years. Better late than never, as to his charge of “converting the reasonable struggle of Tamils into a brutal terrorist campaign”, it is sad that these guys were with Velupillai Prabhakaran when he killed off the other groups.
