Two ministers representing the Hambantota district could not raise their voice to save Nation's resources

Colombo, 21 July, (Asiantribune.com):

Addressing a rally in Moneragala, the Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa said that none of the drinking water projects that they started or any other project had progressed during the period of 2015 - 2019.

And no new programmes were begun during this period.

The 'good governance' government plotted to sell the Hambantota port, airport and expressways.

They succeeded in selling the Hambantota port. They had no sense that these resources belong to the people of this country and their children.

We question who will lose when the properties of our nation are leased for 200 years.

Leasing for 200 years is equal to selling. The previous government has taken away the rights of our children who are even to be born after 200 years.

It is a difficult task to make changes to international agreements. Therefore, several issues have arisen. During that time there were two ministers representing the Hambantota district, but they could not even raise their voice to save the resources of our nation.

The PM also stated that he had appointed a committee to investigate into the demolition of a building which had archaeological value in Kurunegala.

"I will not hesitate to punish anyone irrespective of his status, if I found to have done any wrongdoing in connection with this incident." he said.
