Sri Lanka: 31 New Cases added to the total of 1023 positive cases of COVID 19

Colombo, 20 May, (Asiantribune.com):

The total number of patients infected with the COVID 19 pandemic has passed the one thousand mark as the total reached 1,023 today (19) the Department of Health said.

Thirty-one new patients were added to the total today and the Director-General Health Services Dr Anil Jasinghe said they are all Sri Lanka Navy personnel quarantined at the Oluvil Quarantine Centre.

This brings the total number of COVID 19 positive from the so-called “Navy cluster” to 614, more than half of the total number of patients.

The Navy cluster includes Navy personnel as well as their close associates including family members.

The number of patients now in hospital care with the disease is 443 and the number who have recovered and been released from hospital is 569.

The death toll due to the virus in the country is 09.
