Four more Sri Lankan patients infected with COVID-19 were completely recovered

Colombo, 27 March, (Asiantribune.com):

Four more Sri Lankan patients who were infected with COVID-19 were completely recovered and discharged from the Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) today, Hospital sources said.

A total of 7 (including the Chinese national) have completely recovered so far.

Two new persons have tested positive for COVID-19 in Sri Lanka today, bringing the total number of cases to 106, the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health said.

Currently there are 237 patients under observation at several hospitals in the country and six patients have completely recovered so far.

The government has identified the period till April 10 , 2020 as a high risk period for the spread of coronavirus and therefore the curfew situation in the western province will continue, a minister said.

Cabinet spokesman Minister Bandula Gunawardane told that this was discussed at a meeting chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Wednesday evening.

He said the Puttalam district had been identified as a high-risk district. “We have to control the situation during this period. If we manage the situation until then, we can come out of it,” he said.

He said the government laid down a plan for the distribution of essential items for people during this period.
