A Festive Day in Vetilaikerni – Army Showered Donations

Jaffna, 25 September, (Asiantribune.com):

Jaffna Security Forces Commandant and Chairman and leading members of the 306 - C Diamond Lions Club of Colombo were other day in Vetilaikerni , (J/432 G.S.Division), a small hamlet with less than one thousand population located 18 kilometers from Maruthankerny, in the Vadamaradchy East, to provide help, support and assistance to the people over there.

Reports revealed that many donations were distributed on 22nd September.

A number of donations for deserving school children and civilians including pregnant women in the small village took place at St. Anthony’s Church located in Vetilaikerni.

These donations were funded by the 306 - C Diamond Lions Club in Colombo in response to a request made by Commander Security Force - Jaffna, Major General Darshana Hettiarrachchi.

200 School children from 4 Schools received stationary items while 65 out of them were distributed with school bags in addition.

5 Differently abled men were provided with wheel chairs. Further, 20 pregnant women were facilitated with essential food items.
