Burns wants SL to roast Russia
Tom Burns of the British High Commission has issued a statement to the SL media about Ukrainian double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia’s sad predicament following an alleged nerve agent (Novichoc) attack on them at Salisbury. There is little mention of 19 others affected.
The Skripal home, for reasons best known to the British, is about 7 miles from its top secret facility in the 7,000 acre Porto Down area where the Defence Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear Warfare Centre(DCBRN) is also based.
The British would dearly like the world to believe the attack on Skripal was a Russian job. However, having investigated it thoroughly with their experts at Porto Down, they have concluded that there is ‘no conclusive evidence’ as the ‘precise source’ is unknown. Russia has told Britain that as the attack took place in Britain, and Skripal was under British protection, it was totally Britain’s responsibility.
Russia admitted it had ‘Novichoc’ (‘New Comer’ in Russian) in 1993 with it being produced in Nukus, during the Soviet era, in now independent Uzbekistan and in Shikoy in Central Russia. It however signed the Chemical Weapons Convention in 1997 that prohibits large scale development of prohibited chemicals. The escape clause for former Imperialists, who have waged wars relentlessly for many centuries without end, is that it allows small amounts for research, medical and protective use. Thus even cannabis plants are cultivated by British Sugar in Norfolk. While major players including Russia certified 100 % destruction of stock piles, the USA has 10% left! It had helped to dismantle and decontaminate the Nukus facility in 1999. Whatever Britain or the USA say on the existence or not of WMD provides light humor to all concerned today.
CBRN was earlier called the Nuclear Biological and Chemical (NBC) warfare Centre. Would double agent Skripal, coincidentally living close by, have been invited or expected to ‘drop’ in at the Centre? Being an ex Russian agent he would have been familiar with Novichok? Could he have spirited away some chemical? Could this be a case of friendly fire?
There have been many deaths following ongoing secret British ‘experiments’. In 2005 police were investigated 45 deaths. From 1949-89, 20,000 people under went experiments. Over 360 veterans were paid UK pounds 3 million for being used as guinea pigs for experiments in gas chambers exposing them to nerve, mustard and tear gas. Dr David Kelly, who also worked there, was found dead 2 days after testifying at a parliamentary inquiry into media revelations into the claim to justify the Iraq war fake WMD claims. A RAF Airman and a scientist (1962) died under circumstances not fully explained. Britain has a history of blundering.
Burns, good man, warns SL that this type of ‘attack’ could happen in any country or town. But his most enormous concern is that it happened on ‘European soil’ and nowhere else. There is more than a whiff of British racist arrogance here. It was Churchill that referred to Russians as Asiatic even as 30 million died for the Allied cause in WW2. Coincidentally like Hitler. High Commissioner Dairies however in like step prefers to paraphrase Stalin, without acknowledgement, on single deaths and statistics. Allies? Yet Burns perseveres.
Burns’ appeal was a British initiative using its global reach to isolate Russia. Only westerners, former Imperialists, consisting of about 15% of the world’s population of 7.8 billion supported Britain.
However Burns believed SL was as before easy meat. From 1977 onwards for 17 years SL did everything to identify itself with the West except for donning a white skin, as it is doing now. In WW1, 80 volunteers from just one SL school, among some others, died in the senseless but glorified slaughter in France. In WW2, 20,000 served with the Allies. In 1982 going completely against its colonial grief and past, it declared its truly worthless support for Britain in the Falklands war.
Since 2015 there is no more devoted acolyte of the Western cause, supporting even Israel against Arab interests. For a fleeting moment it engaged in fatuous attempts to tilt China until reality dawned. Reeling under a wave of unpopularity and knowing 1987 Big Brother would never, it avoided even making its customary inane and fawning comments, on the issue.
Poor Burns. His dreams of even an honorable mention on the Queen’s birthday must have vaporized. When dealing with Britain, SL must never forget Wellassa.
