Minister Deniswaran Dares Chief Minister To Remove him,“If He Can.”

Jaffna, 10 August, (Asiantribune.com):

The Northern Provincial Council Minister Balasubramaniam Deniswaran has dared the Chief Minister C.V.Wigneswaran to remove him from his ministerial portfolio, “if he can.”

In a statement made to the press, Deniswaran, who is the Minister of Fisheries, Transport, Trade and Commerce, Rural Development, Road Development and Motor Traffic, in the Northern Provincial Council has stated that, he would never tender his resignation.

He has categorically stated that there was no need for him to resign from his portfolio.

He further brought to the notice that, the investigation committee earlier appointed by the Chief Minister has not found any charges against him and as such, his resignation was not warranted.

He also said that he is prepared to face any other investigation committees, if properly and legally constituted.

However, Deniswaran originally belonged to the TELO and said to be presently an ‘ostracized,’ and the party has requested the Chief Minister to replace him with their nominee, Vinthan Kanagaratnam.

Though the Chief Minister has agreed to replace with the new TELO nominee Vinthan Kanagaratnam , so far for reasons unknown, either he is hesitating or reluctant, he has failed to remove Deniswaran.

In the meantime, the embolden Deniswaran has almost challenged the Chief Minister to remove him, “if he can.”

Deniswaran in his statement has said the Chief Minister is a retired Supreme Court judge, where is he is an attorney-at-law and he would take appropriate measures, in case if he is removed.
