77 Indian poachers to be released today
Today at 11 AM the Sri Lanka Navy will hand over 77 Indian fishermen who were held in legal custody in Sri Lanka to the Indian Coast Guards at the IMBL, North of Kankesanthurai.
A spokesman for the SL Navy said that the 8 Indians poachers would be released soon as the legal procedures are over.
In the meantime it is learnt that India has not released 19 Sri Lankan fishermen held by them.
Sri Lankan Navy spokesman told Asian Tribune that the 19 Sri Lankan fishermen arrested for straying into the Indian territorial waters would be released soon.
Earlier on the 6th of this month Sri Lanka released a group of 51 Indian poachers arrested in the Sri Lankan waters.
