Para Kumarasamy passed away in Berlin

Berlin, 19 December, (Asiantribune.com): Para Kumarasamy, a trade unionist, human rights activist, a writer in exile, and a founder member of "Literary meeting"-(Ilakkiya chanthippu) passed away in Berlin, on 16th December 2007, on his 72nd birthday. He lived in Berlin-Neukölln with his wife Mallika.

His writings and his activities whilst in exile were directed against the social tyranny of the caste system within the Tamil community, and against social injustice and all forms of violence.

He has actively participated diaspora organizations on Sri Lankan issues such as INSD (International Network of Sri Lankan Diaspora) and SLDF (Sri Lanka democracy forum).

Asian Tribune expresses its sincere sympathies along with others to his family and friends. The departure of Pararajasingam is a great loss to us but the outstanding contribution he made will remain, be remembered and appreciated.
