Tons of LTTE’s money to topple Rajapakse’s Government

Colombo, 14 December, (Asiantribune.com): Tamil Tigers and the UNP are working very hard to topple Mahinda Rakjapakse’s Government today at the voting, that would take place at the end of the third reading of the budget.V.PrabakaranV.Prabakaran

Huge amount of LTTE’s money is in circulation to entice the MP’s to vote against the Government.

It said that Prabakaran could not defeat the Government militarily and he takes this voting in the parliament today as God’s sent opportunity to bring an end to Rajapakse’s Government by voting down the Government in the Parliament.

The LTTE is said to be working hand in gloves with the opposition to topple Mahinda Rajapakse’s Government after the Government forces liberated the East from the LTTE and after the Government recently anounced that the Sri Lankan forces are targeting to get at Prabakaran, leader of the LTTE.

The UNP is said to be involved in the horse trading and it is reliably learnt that huge amount of money provided by the LTTE is changing hands to get the Members of Parliament to vote to topple the government.

In the meantime, Janatha Vimukthi Perumuna said that it will never support the UNP at any given time. It is said that some political parties who are sitting on the fence are waiting to see whether Ranil Wickremasinghe, the Leader of the UNP could muster 113 votes today to defeat the Government after the end of the third reading of the budget this evening at 4 PM and form a new government.

However, sources said that Ranil Wickremasinghe will never get that magical figure of 113 votes and JVP will never support him to form a government. This was confirmed by JVP Leader Somawanasa Amerasinghe that JVP will never ever support Ranil Wickremasinghe and UNP to form a government.

Somawansa Amerasinghe, Leader of the JVP was speaking to “Asian Tribune” regarding his party’s pattern of voting in the parliament today.

He said, JVP opposes the Government, but that does not mean that it supports the UNP at any given time. “There is no agreement with the UNP,” categorically said JVP leader Somawansa Amerasinghe.

He cautioned that, “Our opposition should not be construed in anyway that we will support the UNP to form a government in case the government is defeated at the third reading of the budget this evening.”

Somawansa Amerasinghe told Asian Tribune that “So far the Government has not changed anything. They have not done anything to the change the budget that would be beneficial in some way to the people of the country. Therefore our position remains the same.”

When asked whether JVP is trying to topple the Government by voting against the budget to help the UNP to form a government?

The Leader of the JVP denied. He said, “We do not support the UNP and we will never support them.”

He said “we firmly oppose the UNP as well as the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress. UNP –SLMC - LTTE combine have no political agenda. They are only after power grab. “

He further said Government should not do whatever it wanted and then ask for JVP’s support and vote. “In fact,” Somawansa Amerasinghe said, “they will have to come up with new proposals that might be good for the people and good for the country’s economy.”

When asked why JVP did not accept the President’s invitation to meet him for a discussion days before the vote on the second reading of the budget, JVP leader said last time when President invited us, he did not mentioned the purpose of the invitation as well as the subjects he wished to discuss with us.”
