All set for the FCCISL Entrepreneur of the Year Awards

Colombo, 19 October, (Asiantribune.com): The Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year Awards has been conducted for the 12th year running and is a uniquely national honour and recognizing the valuable contribution by the entrepreneurs of the country, said Nawaz Rajabdeen, President, Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Sri Lanka (FCCISL) at the Press Conference following the signing of the MOU with Suntel Ltd to be the Strategic sponsor of this Awards ceremony.

This is the third consecutive occasion Suntel has been the strategic sponsor for this Prestigious Awards Ceremony.

Rajabdeen said that FCCISL is honouring those innovative entrepreneurs who endeavour to reach new horizons in business and industry. He said that this Awards Ceremony become the greatest of its kind as they are not only honouring the entrepreneurs in the metropolis, but embrace the entire country in recognizing the best entrepreneurs, who achieve greater standards, including North and East.

He said that this is the only such programme that recognizes the provincial and national level entrepreneurs and by conducting the Awards ceremony, it provides a great impetus for the Sri Lankan entrepreneur. It also provides opportunities for the Small and Medium level entrepreneurs.

The National Sri Lankan Entrepreneur Awards is scheduled to be held on the 30 November at the BMICH while North and East Regions it will be on 18th October, Uva on 19th October, North Central and Wiayamba will be on November 14, Central will be on November 15 and in the Southern Region the Awards Ceremony will be held on 16th November.

Hasitha Abeywardene, Director, Marketing and Sales, Suntel explaining as to why Suntel decided to sponsor Sri Lankan Entrepreneur of the Year Awards for the third time said that a country’s progress is determined by the enterprising spirit of its people, especially in countries like Sri Lanka where private sector is a key driver of the economy.

He said that by fostering the entrepreneurial culture, specially at regional level and rewarding the most outstanding entrepreneur at the Annual Sri Lanka Entrepreneur of the Year Awards, FCCISL acts as the primary catalyst in SME development in Sri Lanka.

He said that by partnering with FCCISL in this event, they at Suntel believe that they will give fresh impetus to Sri Lankan business achievers an inspiration for them to reach greater heights.

Abeywardene said that at Suntel their main focus is to provide customized and cost effective solutions for small as well as large business to be ahead of competition and excel in their own sphere.
