Remote controlled plane and a helicopter found in 2 captured LTTE boats

Colombo, 11 October, (Asiantribune.com): Remote controlled plane and a helicopter was found in the 2 captured LTTE boats in the midst sea off the coast of Talaimannar.

The Sri Lanka Navy today morning confronted 2 LTTE boats, 5 nautical miles away from Talimannar. After two and half hour long confrontation, Navy captured the LTTE boats.

Navy has earlier observed 4 LTTE cadres onboard the boats and after the capture, they were missing, either believed to be killed or might have jumped obverboard.

Navy discovered a six and half feet long remote-controlled plane with about 6ft wingspan, 1 foot long remote-controlled helicopter, as well as ten hand-held Global Positioning Systems (GPS), four satellite phones, 45 radio antennas, 100 electronic circuit boards, battery charges and large quantity of hydraulic oil cans, said Navy spokesperson D.K.P.Dsasanayake.

He further said that Navy has informed the Air force to inspect the fixed winged plane and helicopter found in the LTTE boats.
