Sri Lanka military finds remaining MBRL parts buried west of Thoppigala

Colombo, 21 July, (Asiantribune.com): Sri Lanka military yesterday said that it has found the remainder of Multi-Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) used by fleeing LTTE rebels.

The military found the first MBRL in the morning hours of July 18, along with 5 rounds.

The second MBRL parts were recovered from Thoppigala – West area called Meegangolla.

Four MBRL barrel parts were separately buried by the rebels, the military said.

"This find will complete the search for the entire first MBRL" the military said.

The Baron's Cap in the Eastern Sri Lanka, known as the Thoppigala mountain region, the long held Eastern bastion of the LTTE rebels, fell to the hands of Sri Lanka armed forces on July 11.
