It was learnt that the two Chief Ministers took the border issues very seriously and shared their thoughts and minds as to how current border tense be brought down to normalcy at the earliest. The two also stressed the need to have further talks to find “lasting and amicable” solution to the border issues facing the two states.

It may be mentioned that when a Group of Ministers (GoMs) led by Home Minister G Kaito Aye met the Ao Senden at DC Conference Hall, Mokokchung on June 12 had also given assurance that the “boundary dispute matter would be taken up at the highest level, i.e., Chief Minister, Nagaland to Chief Minister, Assam.”

The two Chief Ministers of Assam and Nagaland took the border issues very seriously and wanting to find lasting solution to it, he added.

While expressing his happiness on the reported sharing of thoughts and minds on the current border issues by two Chief Ministers of Assam and Nagaland, the Home Minister disclosed that during their talk, the two Chief Ministers had agreed to have further talks on the border issues. “However, the venue and time of their meetings is yet to be fixed,” he said while describing the development as “positive.”
