Crysbro introduces the newest poultry packaging 'Cryovac'

Colombo, 02 January, (Asiantribune.com): Farm’s Pride – Crysbro Group – Gampola for the first time in Sri Lanka introduces the latest Cryovac poultry packaging that has the hallmark of hygienic improvement and enhanced processing and manufacturing efficiencies.

These shrink wrap vacuum packages offer minimal free moisture and is leak-proof, which in turn maintains weight loss thereby, giving the consumer more value for money. With the new packaging, Crysbro poultry products will only be available in four different standard sizes and price marked according to size and weight.

Since 1972, Crysbro has been involved in rearing chicken and is the only poultry processor in Sri Lanka to receive ISO 14001 environmentally safe and British Consortium Certification. Crysbro also acquired ISO 9001, HACCP – ISO 22,000 and two certifications for Halal.

Crysbro Chairman, Mohamed Imtiaz speaking at this important occasion said that they have won these certifications in recognition of their commitment to maintaining a clean environment and ensuring quality.

He said that they have ventured into the remotest areas of Mahiyangana, Nawalapitiya, Anuradhapura and Kantale to help some communities there. At present they support over 2,000 families through direct and indirect employment. He said that they are planning to produce their own feed raw material like corn and Soya which would ensure generation of more employment opportunities.

Maithripala Sirisena, Minister of Agriculture, Irrigation, Mahaweli Development and Environment who was the Chief Guest at the occasion said that utilizing assistance of the private sector of the country is vital to bring in foreign exchange to the country and for the development of the nation as a whole.

He said that in that sense they have to give due recognition to Crysbro for their effort in improving the standards of the food sector and the diversification with which they work.
