[b]Next Pakistani budget to be pro-poor, pro-business[/b]

[b]Islamabad, 09 May, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] Advisor to the Pakistani Prime Minister on Finance, Dr. Salman Shah has said that the budget for the next fiscal year will be pro-poor and pro-business focusing on sustained economic growth and promoting equity.
Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he said special emphasis will be laid on the development of rural areas, water and energy resources, improvement in drinking water supply and sanitation besides upgraded health and education facilities.
He said fiscal discipline will also be ensured in the forthcoming budget besides taking further measures to boost revenue.
Earlier, addressing a consultative workshop on "Competition Policy", Dr. Salman Shah said that a new competition authority will be set up by July this year which will replace monopoly control authority.
