Police arrests fundamental conversion group attempted to convert Buddhists

‘Bodu Bala Sena’ organization (Buddhists Power Force) had caught seven members led by a Pastor named Dinesh who tried to convert Buddhists in Homagama, Piliyandala area who tried to convert Buddhists in to a Christian Fundamental group.

A member of Bodu Bala Sena organization Ven. Aluthwewa Ananda monk said that a group of Bodu Bala Sena activists in the Homagama area caught the seven members led by Dinesh of the Christian Fundamentalists group who had been involved in converting Sinhala young Buddhists in the Homagama, Piliyandala area and were produce to Dehiwala Poloice station.

“After we caught them Pastor Dinesh and the group had accepted that they were unethically involved in converting Buddhists” he said.

According to him at several homes the fundamentalist group had been attempting to lead the converted Buddhists to destroy Lord Buddha statues in several places quoting “Lord Buddha is a Demon and he is the cause of every problem in people’s family lives.”

Further the monk said although the fundamentalists group were caught in Kohuwala area the group led by Pastor Dinesh was produced to Dehiwala police as the Kohuwala police station had refused to accept the complain by a group of people who had witness that a fundamentalist group is operating in the area.
