Ainsley (A. P.) Samarajiva passed away

Ainsley (A. P.) Samarajiva, Attorney-at-Law, Educationist and Social Worker, passed away on the 9th of May 2012.

Mr. Samarajiva was closely associated with the Left Movement of Sri Lanka since the 1950’s and subsequently worked tirelessly to bring relief to the families of missing persons.

As a human rights lawyer he was very active in protecting the rights of the youth in the South in 1988-89 period and in the recent past endeavored to bring relief to war affected communities.

Mr. Samarajiva is the father of Lilani & Rohan Samarajiva and the father – in – law of Nihal Peter and Sujata Gamage.
