Post-war Development in Jaffna District is amazing says Mrs. Sushma Swaraj, Indian opposition Leader

Ms. Sushma Swaraj, the Lok Sabha opposition leader who led the visiting parliamentary delegation stated that she came to Jaffna at the invitation of Douglas Devananda, Minister of Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development and was amazed to see the developmental work that was being carried out in Jaffna.

She said so speaking to a group of media personnel who had been awaiting to meet her at Jaffna Central College playgrounds on the 18th of April, 2012.

Speaking further, the Indian opposition leader said, that she gladly accepted the invitation extended by the Minister and would be personally visiting the places with the Minister where major developmental work was taking place for her first hand information.

The Hon. Minister speaking at the occasion said that the entire Northern Province including Jaffna was fast tracking towards development under the able leadership and guidance of President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his objective was to go for a total development utilizing every resource available.

People gathered at the playground waving Indo-Sri Lanka flags welcomed the visiting Indian delegation and cried out in loud chorus for continuance of Indo-Sri Lanka friendship.

EPDP Secretary General and Traditional Industries and Small Enterprise Development Minister Douglas Devananda hosted a dinner to the Indian opposition leader Mrs. Sushma Swaraj and Indian Parliamentary delegation.

The dinner was arranged at a restaurant in Jaffna town on Wednesday night (18.04.2012).

The prominent members of EPDP Party including EPDP Parliamentarians M. Chandrakumar and Sylvesthri Allentine (Udayan) participated at this dinner.

It's noteworthy that Minister Douglas Devananda briefed the Indian Opposition Leader Mrs. Sushma Swaraj on the various issues including the contemporary situation of the district.
