Lalin's Coloumn: How would the USA have defeated the LTTE? (2)

By Major General (Retired) Lalin Fernando

Lalin_Fernando_49.jpgThere is peace and joy every where in SL after 30 years of LTTE terror that beggars belief. In the countries that the USA has decided to help by invading, torturing, urinating, sodomizing, raping and murdering there is not. Instead, on an average, there are daily about 25 being killed in Afghanistan and Iraq and less in Libya, thanks mainly to the leadership of the USA.

Had SL, when a earth shaking victory was nigh, acquiesced to pressure from the West for a ceasefire to be followed by negotiations, the LTTE as it had done at each and every ceasefire would still be carrying out never ending assassinations, suicide and baby brigade attacks in towns and cities, murder attacks on isolated villages and bombings of public places, trains, buses and utilities. The 300,000 hostages would have probably all died long ago if one accepts the accusations of deliberate starvation and lack of medicines made by Sewage 4 media of Snow and Weiss.

Further the USA and the West would have forced SL to consume their patented devil’s brew that ruined every country that quenched its thirst for liberation from them. That is the incontrovertible truth that Butenis and Blake etc cannot deny.

All SL would now ask the West and its stooges is to state how they would have taken out the 10-15,000 conventionally well armed cadres of the LTTE that had an ersatz air and piratical sea element, while holding 300,000 hostages captive .

The USA should look at its own track record. Its Attorney General has said recently that the USA can and will kill its own citizens even in a foreign country if they posed a threat to the safety of the USA. It should reflect on its decision to nuke Hiroshima and Nagasaki which it justified by the ‘law’ of necessity’. The fire bombing of German cities in WW2, killing nearly a million in each including Dresden that did not have even one regiment or an anti aircraft gun, was apparently done with barbaric not tactical motives.

Possibly ‘no conspiracy’ Butenis, formerly from Lithuania, whose web only interviews (Ceylon News) and Hi magazine beloved of her dearest Colombo WOGs and the buddy she quotes, Hillary Clinton, (who survived mythical air bombing in Kosovo) could tell SL how tactics based on urinating on 34,000 dead Afghans, burning their holy books, drone bombing of mosques, funerals and marriage ceremonies, and spraying bullets on children and women and the endless outrages in Iraq (over a million killed of which nearly 180,000 were by the US army) contribute to military doctrine and victory. This is even without revisiting Vietnam especially My Lai.

In Somalia and Lebanon, the USA cut and ran when casualties mounted. The US attack with 7,500 troops on harmless and tiny Grenada, a Commonwealth country, (population 100,000) with about a 100 strong armed force in 1983, was condemned by the UN as “a flagrant violation of international law”. US naval vessels, a few hundred meters from the Granada shore, wiped out not just a hospital but one for mental patients. They had got the map coordinates wrong.

They should instead have bombed the Pentagon or Washington itself. There has always been a surfeit of lunatics and idiots there if not elsewhere in the USA.

USS Vincennes a guided missile carrier on 3 July 1988 shot down a civilian Iranian Airbus 300 aircraft (Flt 655) over the Straits of Hormuz in Iranian waters killing all 290 passengers and crew. The USN says it thought the plane was a US F14 Tomcat! As ordered by the ICJ, the US paid compensation of $ 213,000 each to the NOK of those killed but never admitted or apologized for the crime.

This is the mighty country with all its advanced high tech equipment that charges 3rd world SL with HR and IHR violations in its conflict with terrorists.

These US diplomats may help the US Generals answer the same, now pressing, query. How would they have done it?

The bully’s doctrine of ‘necessity’, that the SL forces had not ever heard of before, may be their response. It doesn’t even value the lives of its own people especially the Blacks. The ghosts of Kent State university (US National Guard v unarmed university students protesting the Vietnam war that led to 4 students being killed and 9 wounded when the USNG fired 63 rounds in 13 seconds on 4 May 1970) will join those of Hamburg, Dresden, Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan when the ISAF bugs out from Kabul as surely they will.

The USA will learn that a Pathan never forgets. Even to the ends of the earth. There will be no war crime tribunals. Only the punishment of a thousand whips and more.

Butenis, Clinton, Blake Pillay and Ban, this is your day. (Cameron hold your fire. At least some of your countrymen still play cricket so we will give you more time).

If you have no answer please forever hold your peace. By doing what these war mongers now say is wrong, SL did the right thing by its people and succeeded. It brought in permanent peace that sent the LTTE into oblivion.

Could the USA have done it differently? How? It should concentrate on how to bug out of Afghanistan ASP without trying to be the patron saint of HR which devils are least qualified to be. Kabul is the bloody nemesis of all invaders of Afghanistan. The world watches.
