Mr Fonseka seems to have mostly collected all the dissident, insecure, misinformed & ignorant people in Lanka under his 'Swan' hat ....!
all this was backed by whom, and from whom did the money come for his campaign ? What part did the hidden ltte rump play in all this ?

Flirting with Politics and Challenging the State

This is what the General was asking for when he kept challenging the State, and was provoked by his Opposition mates into a shrill and continuing inability to accept his defeat at what was perhaps the most orderly and scrutinized Presidential Election in Sri Lanka.
No country, be it the UK. US, Canada, Australia, France, Germany, Norway etc., etc.,..would have tolerated the kind of behavior the General was displaying for too long without military law kicking into place. What a sad story for a hero who allowed ambition to eclipse all else; spearheading divisions within the military and making pacts with any and every political faction in order to win. Any of the political factions would have sacrificed the general for their own ends without batting an eyelash. But he was too blinded by ambition to see through their cunning and machinations.
This drama will now continue with the Opposition combo trying to bring in the "street game" as their last resort.

Army deserters case is the most worrisome. JVP must be having a big hand in this. I speculate that JVP might have planted them in the army to get the necessary training for their 3rd revolution. With the diminishing grass root level support this is a handy way of having a force. And the JVP, SF coalition couldn't be a random affair.

Was not Prez Rajapakse the one who was always so determined to get the support of the JVP WHILE SHUNNING POLITICAL PARTIES that would have been more amenable to working with him in a more cooperative manner? We hope Prez Rajapakse has finally learned a lesson.

Anyone with basic common sense would have known that the country cannot move forward and also enable all communities to live together peacefully if the GoSL is expecting the JVP to support its agenda. Prez Rajapakse should have the basic common sense to understand with whom he needs to form political alliances in order to move the country forward.

A fish dies because of its mouth. The destiny for SF is the same. He was trying to reveal military secrets at the very beginning of the election campaign. Once he was defeated with very big margin, he got mad and started bulling. He should be sent to Angoda for treatment.
