India and the European Union are holding their annual summit here in the Indian capital with focus said to be on issues related to climate change and trade.
Prime Minister of Sweden Fredrik Reinfeldt heads the 36-member strong EU delegation as Sweden holds the current EU presidency. He is accompanied by Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt, Trade Minister Dr Ewa Björling and a high level business team.
Reinfeldt will hold summit level talks with his Indian counterpart Dr. Manmohan Singh.
During his two-day stay in India, Reinfeldt will participate in bilateral talks with Dr Singh, meet Indian leaders including Chairperson of ruling alliance, Sonia Gandhi, Leader of Opposition L.K. Advani,and Minister for External Affairs S.M. Krishna besides President Pratibha Patil and Vice President Ansari.

India and Sweden are expected to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on environment. The MoU will cover climate change, clean technology, clean development mechanisms, environmental governance and air water quality.
The MoU will lead to the setting up of a joint working group which will oversee implementation.
While in Delhi, Reinfeldt will interact with climate experts at TERI, visit Stockholm Water Prize winner Dr Bindeshwar Pathak’s Sulabh Gram and grace the Sweden-India Nobel Memorial Dinner held by the Ambassador Mr Lars-Olof Lindgren.
Before leaving for home, the Swedish Prime Minister will visit the world famous ode to love in white marble, the Taj Mahal in Agra
