[b]Colombo, 13 April, (Asiantribune.com): [/b]Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and the Government of Sri Lanka (GoSL) have locked horns over the issue of LTTE’s Eastern Commanders transport to Vanni by ship. Rejecting the GoSL offer to transport the LTTE cadres, it has informed the Sri Lanka Peace Secretariat that they are determined to take their Eastern Commanders in their ships to Vanni despite the warning by the Sri Lanka Government to shoot the vessels that carries the cadres without the approval and consent of the Government.
According to informed sources in the Vanni, on Wednesday LTTE has conveyed their decision through the Norwegian facilitators to bring their Eastern commanders by sea despite opposition by the Government. According to reports already the decision has been conveyed personally by Norway’s Ambassador Hans Bratsakar to Dr. Palitha Kohona, Secretary General, Secretariat for Coordinating the Peace Process.
It is feared that uncompromising stance adopted by both the Sri Lanka Government as well as by the LTTE would tend to snowball into a armed confrontation.

GOSL should call back Generals who were performing in the battle field (and not the guys like Anuruddha Rathwatthe) should have a War council to support the three commanders and to advice the PResident.
