LTTE attempted to use Trincomalee incidents to unleash a backlash of July 1983 - Minister Keheliya Rambukwella
Colombo, 27 April, (Asiantribune.com): Policy Development and Implementation Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, speaking at a press Conference held at the Government Information Department’s Auditorium on Wednesday, pointed out that although the Government was fully committed to continue the Geneva Talks, the LTTE continues to violate the agreement reached in Geneva. It had escalated the violence since April 07. The LTTE attempted to use the Trincomalee incidents to unleash a backlash of July 1983, Minister alleged.
He said that after three years of deadlock, President Mahinda Rajapaksa was able to bring all political parties, despite their differences in their cardinal principles, to an All Party Conference, and it crowned with the success of the Geneva Talks.
The Government is interested in solving the problem through negotiation that is in a civilized way the Minister added.
