Melbourne, 20 April, (Asiantribune.com):Australia’s Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) yesterday interviewed Pradeep, the Political leader of TVMP (Karuna’s group), projecting Col Karuna’s group as the new political entity that is emerging as formidable force in the Sri Lankan crisis.
Pradeep said that they have a military wing, a political wing, a financial wing and an intelligence wing. Aaron Lewis, the reporter who interviewed Pradeep in Batticoloa, said that the Karuna Group is fighting with the LTTE weapons they took with them when they broke away from the LTTE in 2004. Some of the weapons were captured from the LTTE cadres.
The camera focused on TMVP pasted as posters or painted on the walls of Batticoloa. Aaron Lewis also showed footage of TVMP soldiers carrying rocket propelled grenade launches, AK 47 and other weapons. He said that the TVMP claims to have a force of 1500 soldiers.

In a way yes. But look at karuna's issue. In his first interview after defection he said, that he respect Praba as his god. Since then there is no direct interviews from him, except for media releases attacking Praba.
Agian, issue here is not about whether Praba is right or wrong.
Is karuna alive?
Is he 'free' to make decisions?

Everybody knows that Karuna group exist and its possible that GOSL supports it...all war tacticts...BUT its also possible that the so called group is independent......why not??
BUT we all know the groups like "makkal padai", "ellalan padai", "naaththa padia" and "uooththa padai" etc.....all the cowardice act of LTTE.......and its not a shadow war......funny

According to a yesterday SL- Dailynews article, even the British govt did the same thing against IRA. At the end IRA had almost nothing else they could do, "paras' made the IRA disarm.
Some how according to that article, KAruna is more successful compared to what that group did.
Karuna is not an "para" that govt. made. So, it is good lesson to the govr, to make more.
Again, I heard that LTTE caders in the East defected leaving all the arms in camps because of the "impending" attacks by KAruna. Now, Karuna is armed to the "TEETH".

Ms.Helen Olafsdottir, spokesperson for the European peace monitors has no damn business with regard to Karuna where ever he is. Has she able to stop the killings by the LTTE. No. Why do we want a peace facilitiator and peace monitors. For what reason. Has she or the UN stopped the LTTE from recruiting the children. No. These matters need immediate remedy but just not condemning.
First of all the European community is contributing to the LTTE coffers to buy arms to fight the Government forces. Why cannot the European governments not act like Canada. It is because they want the Tamil votes.
All these people should get out of the country. They are having a jolly time. Let the government troops, Karuna group and other groups jointly destroy the LTTE. They can. Of course there would be loss of lives.
The LTTE is a menace to the Tamil society let alone the Sinhalese.

I am glad that AT brought some items from Australian SBS's dateline programe on "Sri lanka's shadow war". I was able to see the free clip on the net and our honerable president's brother is the ([b]words deleted for lack of civility - Moderator)[/b] in the clip. It was a good free clip with lot of info.
