New Delhi, 10 March (Asiantribune.com): The DMK has sorted out smoothly the most ticklish seat adjustment with allies. Thus the DMK led alliance is one-up on its rival, AIADMK led front, which is still busy picking up allies and throwing the red carpet for the new comers. The latest to cross over to the AIADMK ranks is BJP's lone MLA in Pondicherry, A M Krishnamoorthy. He resigned from the assembly and joined AIADMK in the presence of Jayalalithaa in Chennai on Thursday.
The DMK –led front's seat sharing formula was Okayed at separate meetings M Karunanidhi held with allies. TNCC president M Krishnaswamy expressed satisfaction with the allocation of 48 seats. This is a gain of two seats since Jayalalithaa allowed Congress only 46 seats in the 2001 elections.
The deal was stuck after hard bargaining in Chennai and Delhi and some last minute hectic telephone lobbying from Delhi.
