[b]Colombo, 11 April, (Asiantribune.com):[/b] Political Secretariat of the TamilEela Makkal Viduthalai Pulikal led by Colonel Karuna was ceremoniously declared open yesterday in Batticaloa. Hindu, Muslim and Christian religious leaders were present at the occasion chanting prayers when the Tamil national flag of the TMVP was hoisted by Commander Marckan.
Political cadres of the TMVP in civil dress were seen paying respect to Tamil nation flag, when it was hoisted amidst the chanting of the prayers.
The name board of the TMVP political Secretariat was unveiled by Pratheep, the Secretary General of the new Secretariat.
The traditional oil lamp was lit by the representatives of the Batticaloa Traders Association.
School teachers, principals, students, and general public participated in large numbers in the event.

Finally thanks to Karuna Amman, even the SL Gov. is willing to work with a group who has a National flag other than the Lion flag. Bravo Karuna!!!

Karuna be alert, the SL army commander issued a threat a while ago that it is the Principal’s job not to let the students participate in these kind of events. You not only got the students but the Principal and teachers too!
