Madras HC upholds Centre’s ban on LTTE

The Madras High Court yesterday upheld the ban imposed by the Centre on the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) in 2010.

Dismissing the petitions, the bench observed that the petitioners did not have any locus standi to challenge the notification as they were neither office bearers nor members of the LTTE.
