The systematic government wrongdoing on issues such as "white flag" incident, extensive shelling of No Fire Zones, systematic shelling of hospitals, withholding humanitarian supplies to civilians entrapped by the LLTE, the failure to address accountability for alleged war crimes and government's lethargy in prosecuting security forces members who committed alleged human rights abuses were the highlights of US State Department's annual human rights report on Sri Lanka.
