An eleven-year old boy being killed by a bus is a crushing blow for his family and the conscience of the entire city, but no less deplorable is the fact that it is only when an accident like that takes place that the authorities wake up to the danger that lurks everyday on the roads of Delhi. The men and women who are in power talk about doing something that they never achieve—reining in the murderous ‘Blueline’ drivers in the city. An even bigger tragedy is that after making all those noises the ground situation remains as bad as ever. The menace of bloodthirsty drivers on roads in Delhi has only increased in recent years. And it comes not just from Blueline drivers.
