The private celebrations of the LTTE following the killing of Lakshman Kadirgamar have now reached a new level with either Tamil politicians cooking up excuses for the killing or pro-LTTE spokespersons publicly gloating over the death of the late Kadirgamar. Brian Senewiratne, Australia, who claims to be a relation of the Bandaranaikes, is the latest celebrating the death of Kadirgamar.

Amidst allegations of the LTTE killing the Foreign Minister Lakshman Kadirgamar, Tamil National Alliance Leader R. In an election, simple arithmetic reigns supreme. The winner of the coming elections will be either Mahinda Rajapakse or Ranil Wickremesinghe and neither can win without some backing from the North and the East. Mahinda Rajapakse if he is serious about becoming the President will have to come to an alliance with the JVP; however even with such an alliance he cannot prevail without winning a segment of the North Eastern vote. Presidential Elections and the North East Factor

In an election, simple arithmetic reigns supreme. The winner of the coming elections will be either Mahinda Rajapakse or Ranil Wickremesinghe and neither can win without some backing from the North and the East. President on a State visit to China

President Chandrika Kumaratunga left for the Peoples Republic of China early today on a five day-day State visit at the invitation of President Hu Jintao.
